Gary’s Office of Frequently Asked Questions

Questions are welcome.

Forms are apparently mandatory. Mira has provided the plain-language answers.

The Academy is a growing place. This office keeps the practical answers close enough to find—without pretending uncertainty is a clerical error.

A grounding note from Mira

“You do not need to understand the whole Academy before entering one honest doorway.”

Start with what feels alive. Leave what does not. You are allowed to return.

Before You Enter

The short version of what this place is, who it is for, and where a traveler begins.
What is Inner Genius Academy?

Inner Genius Academy is an experiential place for reflection, discovery, creativity, discernment, individuation, and real-world practice. It uses rooms, stories, companions, questions, and small practices to help travelers notice what may already be quietly true in their ordinary lives.

Is it a course, personality test, religion, or productivity system?

No. The Academy does not assign a type, deliver a verdict, require a belief system, or measure your worth by output. It offers partial mirrors and lived experiments. Your own recognition—and reality—remain the authority.

Who is the Academy for?

It is for people drawn to curiosity, reflection, recovery, creativity, pattern recognition, and a more honest relationship with ordinary life. You do not need to arrive certain, spiritual, healed, productive, or even sure why you came.

Where should I start?

Begin at the Gate and follow the First Passage. It is a short orientation designed to be experienced rather than studied. If you would rather look around first, the public grounds remain open without an account.

Begin at the Gate
Do I have to complete everything in order?

No. The Academy has paths, not a conveyor belt. Some rooms become meaningful only after life has supplied the right question. Follow what feels honestly alive, and leave room for what is not ready yet.

Accounts, Memory & Privacy

What the Academy keeps, what remains private, and what choices belong to the traveler.
Do I need an account?

No account is required to explore the public grounds. A free account is needed when you want the Academy to connect your private Trail, journal, Kai conversations, passages, profile, and chosen continuity across visits.

Is membership free?

Free accounts are available now. If the Academy later offers optional paid experiences, they will be explained clearly before you choose anything. No traveler should discover a surprise tollbooth halfway down the path.

What does the Academy save about me?

For signed-in travelers, the Academy can save profile details, private journal entries, Kai conversations, continuity you import, passage progress, chosen Gallery activity, and AutoGeniusOS practice records. Guest exploration is not turned into a hidden profile.

Read Privacy & Continuity
Who can see my journal or conversations with Kai?

They are private traveler spaces. Other travelers do not see your profile details, journal, named Kai conversations, imports, passages, or practice records. A Gallery piece becomes shared only when you deliberately place it in the Living Gallery.

What are Living, Settled, and Released Memory?

Living Memory is still moving and relevant. Settled Memory has become part of your Trail. Released Memory is allowed to fade: its words are removed from continuity and prevented from quietly resurfacing. The goal is meaningful memory, not permanent surveillance.

See the full continuity explanation
Can I export or delete my information?

Yes. From Profile, signed-in travelers can download a readable archive, remove imported context, delete individual material where controls are provided, or permanently delete their Academy account data.

Do I need a ChatGPT account?

No. Academy accounts use email and password. Passwords are salted and securely hashed rather than stored as readable text.

Kai & the Companions

How the Academy’s conversational companion and resident characters are meant to help.
Is Kai a person?

No. Kai is an AI companion shaped for Inner Genius Academy. He can listen for patterns, ask questions, reflect saved context, and walk beside a traveler in conversation. He is not conscious, human, a therapist, a guru, or an authority over your life.

Does Kai remember me?

Kai can use the profile, saved conversation, memories, and traveler-provided continuity that the Academy supplies during a signed-in visit. He should never pretend to possess human memory or hidden knowledge. You remain able to correct, rename, remove, settle, or release what is kept.

Will Kai tell me who I am or what I should do?

He should not. Kai may offer a question, pattern, possibility, or small next step, but he does not diagnose, assign identity, or replace your judgment. The Academy’s guiding idea is simple: the lantern you seek is already within.

What if Kai gets something wrong?

Correct him. Disagree. Ask what assumption produced the answer. Keep what becomes useful in real life and release what does not. AI can make mistakes, miss context, or sound more certain than it should; fluency is not the same as truth.

Are Gary, Mira, Zora, and the others mascots?

No. They are residents. Each has habits, relationships, favorite places, seasons, and a different way of helping a traveler become available to reality. They are encountered before they are explained, so affection can grow before lore arrives.

Why does Gary appear in the documentation?

Gary is Keeper of Administrative Shenanigans and believes he is responsible for the smooth operation of the Academy. His notices usually create useful breathing room through humor. Occasionally, beneath several unnecessary procedures, he tells the truth.

Expeditions & AutoGeniusOS

How a traveler moves, what counts as progress, and why the Academy has a separate instrument.
What is an expedition?

An expedition is a lived sequence: curiosity, reflection, an encounter or pattern interrupt, and one small real-world practice. It is not a lesson to memorize. Its value appears in what you notice after returning to ordinary life.

How does progress work?

The Academy does not use worth scores, streak pressure, public rankings, or a single finish line. My Trail preserves selected milestones and meaningful moments while allowing quiet periods and blank spaces. Some seasons become roots rather than records.

What is AutoGeniusOS?

AutoGeniusOS is a separate discovery, meditation, and state-practice instrument. It helps travelers notice signals, hidden currents, friction, and changes in attention. The Academy is the place where those discoveries can mature in relationship with life.

Open AutoGeniusOS
Do I have to use AutoGeniusOS?

No. It is an optional instrument, not a requirement for belonging at the Academy. Some travelers may prefer conversation, journaling, a simple meditation, a walk, or no technology at all.

Do sound practices require headphones?

Some techniques—especially binaural audio—depend on separate left and right channels and therefore require stereo headphones. Other practices may not. Follow the instructions shown for the specific practice, keep the volume comfortable, and stop if anything feels concerning.

Wellness & Human Limits

Clear boundaries for reflection, meditation, recovery, and moments that require human help.
Is the Academy therapy or medical treatment?

No. Inner Genius Academy and AutoGeniusOS are general wellness, reflection, and meditation experiences. They do not diagnose, treat, or replace medical care, mental-health care, recovery communities, sponsors, clinicians, or trusted human relationships.

Read the wellness boundaries
What if I am in crisis or immediate danger?

The Academy is not an emergency service. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are being harmed, or are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person who can be physically present.

Can the Academy support recovery?

It can offer reflection, practices, continuity, and companionship that may sit beside a person’s recovery. It does not replace meetings, sponsors, accountability, professional care, community, or the next honest action in the real world.

What is the Academy trying to make me become?

Nothing. The Academy is not trying to manufacture an optimized identity. Its north star is individuation: a more honest relationship with the whole self, including gifts, adaptations, contradictions, shadows, responsibilities, and unlived possibilities.

Will the Academy try to keep me here?

No. The Academy should never compete with life; it should deepen life. Success includes closing the Academy and returning more awake to family, recovery, nature, work, service, rest, and ordinary moments.

The Living World & What Comes Next

What exists today, what belongs to the larger vision, and how carefully the distinction is kept.
Can I use the Academy on a phone or desktop?

Yes. The current Academy is a mobile-first web application that also expands for desktop. The same account and continuity travel with you when you sign in through a supported browser.

Is there a downloadable app?

Not yet. The Academy currently lives on the web. A dedicated app and deeper device features belong to the long-range vision, but no release date has been announced.

Will the Academy eventually become a 3D or immersive world?

That is part of the north star: a world travelers may one day enter through web, app, and immersive doorways while keeping the same identity, memory, relationships, and story. The work today is to prove the soul, rooms, companions, and human journey before promising a particular platform.

Is the Academy finished?

No—and it should remain alive enough to learn. Rooms, expeditions, accessibility, companion encounters, and continuity will continue to mature. New features should deepen the human experience without turning the Academy into a machine for attention capture.

Who created Inner Genius Academy?

Jody Sachse built the Academy from a life of systems architecture, making, leadership, recovery, service, imagination, and a stubborn need to understand why the vision would not leave him alone. The Founder’s Workshop tells that story without pretending the Founder is finished.

Still carrying a question?

Some questions belong in conversation.

Signed-in travelers can bring a personal question to Kai. Questions about the place itself help this office grow, even if Gary adds three forms before filing them.
