Privacy & continuity

Your inner life is not a leaderboard.

Guest exploration does not require an account. A guest lantern or unfinished Signal passage may be kept only in the browser you are using.

What signed-in travelers can choose to keep

When you choose “Carry this to Kai,” the selected encounter waits in this browser tab while you review it or sign in. That temporary draft is available for up to two hours. It is sent to ChatGPT only when you copy and paste it there, or use an explicitly prepared Action passage. Its place reference identifies the Academy source, not a hidden personal profile.

Your profile, private journal entries, preserved earlier web-Kai conversations, imported continuity notes, guided-passage progress, Inner Current results and their evidence, Academy Passport markers, gallery contributions and likes, and AutoGeniusOS practice records can be connected to your signed-in identity so they remain available when you return.

The Signal and My Constellation

Guests may complete The Signal without an account; the guest result stays in that browser unless the traveler chooses to create or use an Academy account. For signed-in travelers, a completed result and its versioned evidence are kept privately in My Constellation. Partial answers still resume only on the current device.

Sharing is off by default. The compact share preview can include only chosen public fields such as the Signal title, plain interpretation, recognition phrase, living question, and completion date. Friction, optional free text, raw answers, safety routing, Weather, recovery or trauma context, confidence, and private evidence are excluded.

What is shared

Your journal, profile details, imported notes, passages, and practice records are traveler spaces. Current Kai conversations live in ChatGPT and are managed there, not through Academy controls. The Living Gallery is a shared Academy room, so an image you deliberately add there is visible to other signed-in travelers.

Signed-in travelers may quietly report a traveler-made Gallery piece for privacy, safety, or ownership review. Reports go only to the Founder review queue. The person who shared the piece does not see the reporter’s identity or note.

Your saved Kai conversation link

If you choose to save a private ChatGPT conversation address, the Academy keeps that bookmark with your account so you can reopen the same chat across visits and devices. The Academy does not fetch the conversation or learn its contents through the link. The bookmark is not included in Kai Action responses or copied Passport handoffs. You can replace or remove it in Kai’s Study. It is included in your account export and removed when you delete your Academy account data. Removing the bookmark does not delete the conversation in ChatGPT.

Kai continuity without pretending

Kai remains the Inner Genius Academy Custom GPT inside ChatGPT. The manual handoff includes only the context and Passport markers you explicitly select and review. ChatGPT holds the conversation; the Academy does not silently copy it. Material you paste or authorize an Action to retrieve enters ChatGPT and is subject to its own data controls.

The Founder-only Action experiment uses a random code that expires after 30 minutes. The Academy stores its cryptographic hash, a short arrival context, and references to the exact selected marker versions—not a copy of your entire Passport. Anyone possessing the code can retrieve those words and submit one marker. It is a temporary capability, not proof of ChatGPT identity or OAuth. Keep codes private; do not include them in public links.

The Action is designed to ask for approval of the exact marker and report that approval to the Academy. The Academy records its receipt time, provenance and a hash of the approved payload, but cannot independently verify what was said inside ChatGPT. The pilot must be tested with non-sensitive material before broader use. No conversation transcript is required or accepted by the Action.

Your Academy Passport is not an assessment or personality profile. Each marker shows whether it is traveler-endorsed, open context, or a Kai hypothesis, and whether its wording came from you, Kai, or an Academy passage. Kai should describe this as context the Academy carried forward—not as secret, human-like, or omniscient memory.

Living, Settled, and Released

A memory may stay Living while it is still moving, become Settled when it feels integrated, or be Released. Releasing scrubs the memory’s words from Academy continuity, removes its linked journal copy when one exists, and prevents it from resurfacing. A content-free release marker remains only so the system does not quietly recreate what you released.

Your controls

From Profile, you can download a readable JSON archive of your Academy data, remove imported context, or permanently delete your Academy account data. In Kai’s Study, you can inspect, edit, archive, restore, or remove Passport markers; archived markers are not sent to Kai. Individual Observatory pages can be edited or removed together with their connected Trail material. Your own Gallery pieces can be removed from the shared room at any time.

Editing, archiving, or removing a selected marker withdraws that version from future Action retrieval. The revised version needs a newly chosen passage. “Close all Action passages” stops future retrieval and writes immediately, even after a page refresh. Expired passages are unusable and are purged during later bridge use; account deletion removes them too. These controls cannot erase words already copied, returned by an Action, or retained in a ChatGPT conversation.

This page describes the Academy’s current behavior in plain language. The Founder Desk can author shared weather and mythic moments, but it cannot read or publish a traveler’s private memories.

Open the Academy Compass, or drag it up and down along the edge to move it out of the way.
